The Clinic is run by the Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) which is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS). It was established in 1994.
The Corporation aims to relieve the poverty, misfortune, disadvantage, distress, dispossession and suffering of Aboriginal people primarily through the provision of Primary and Secondary health care services and the delivery of a range of health education programs aimed at improving the standard of health of the Martu people and others living in the Western Desert region of Western Australia.
There is a visiting Doctor who gets flown into the Community fortnightly and various visiting Specialists who come into the Community throughout the year to provide health care and health education to the Community. The Royal Flying Doctor Service is flown in for any major emergencies.
The Clinic business hours are 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Emergencies only in after hours
